Chemotherapy - a common
term which usually refers to the use of specific chemicals/medications to treat
several diseases. More precisely, it is known to be the curative treatment for
cancer. Through the use of these chemicals/medications i.e. Chemotherapy; one
can see a rapid decrease of cancerous cells present within the body. Also,
chemotherapy often includes the use of medications and antibiotics for the
treatment of various other illnesses.
Chemotherapy along with
other treatments can be used such as physical exercise. The cancer patients who
frequently exercise after their routine chemotherapy sessions have a much
lesser threat of cancer reappearance.
Today, the use of
cytotoxic medicines help precludes cancer cells from growing more. Whenever a
health practitioner talks about the treatment of cancer as chemotherapy, they
are basically referring more to cytotoxic medication. Moreover, the Genetic
testing is helping health professionals to target chemotherapy more precisely.
According to the study
led by the investigators in Duke’s Pratt School of Engineering and Duke
Comprehensive Cancer Center- “By studying the patterns in which light bounces
off the surfaces of cells, researches may be able to assess chemotherapy’s
success in triggering cancer cell death”.
