Cat Bite- A source of bacteria and several infections

Cat Bites are more serious and dangerous as compared to a dog bite. The research analysis has shown that 1 out of 3 patients wounded by cat bites died in hospital while two third of them had to go through surgical treatment.

This is because of the fact that the cats usually carry various types of bacteria in their mouth which causes infection in tissues, resulting into blood poisoning, also known as septicemia. The most common symptoms of these wound fissures at an early stage include flu and fever and under rare circumstances can lead to patient`s death if the medical treatment is not taken out at the appropriate time.

Several safety measures should be taken in the above case in order to prevent the infection from spreading to surrounding tissues and joints. Cleaning the wound is the first and prime requirement, but scrubbing should be avoided. It is also important to control and stop bleeding by seeking medical attention through a physician.
